Note 1  -  STR stands for Short Tandem Repeats.  See the U.S. NIST's Summary of STR Loci Information.

Note 2  -  The allele values shown in this table use FTDNA nomenclature.  Different testing laboratories use different approaches to counting the DYS values.  Be very careful to understand comparison issues before comparing values from different laboratories.

Note 3  -  Haplogroups are listed only if the information was obtained from an SNP Biallelic Marker test. ( SNP = Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms.)   Haplogroups obtained by prediction from STR Marker results are not shown in this column.

Note 4  -  DYS stands for DNA Y-Chromosome Segment identifier

Note 5  -  DYS389 is a non-standard marker. Matching at DYS389 requires special-case handling when comparing markers reported by different laboratories. With DYS389I=13 and DYS389II=30, subtraction gives the value for DYS389B=17.  DYS389B is reported instead of DYS389-II by some labs.

Note 6 - These values represent the lab practices post-19-May-2003, when the lab adjusted previous values these Markers down by one point.
